Modelon reinforces its optimization offerings for the process industry

The new ProOpt project under the PiiA program starts on July 1st, 2015.

In this project, Modelon will advance its optimization technology further to match the needs in the chemical process industry. Specific targets in the project includes FMI and Modelica-based tools for steady-state optimization of complex production processes for the chemical process industry. Modelon will also contribute with Modelica and FMI expertise and support partners in advancing their model-based design methodologies.

Partners in the project are the Department of Chemical Engineering at Lund University (coordinator), Modelon AB, Novo Nordisk A/S and Perstorp AB. The three year project receives a 5 MSEK grant from Vinnova.

Since May 2015, Modelon is a member of PiiA, which is a national R&D initiative targeting strengthened innovation and competitiveness of the Swedish process industry. Modelon’s engagement in PiiA is an expression of our strategic interest in the process industry where model-based technology is key to efficient and flexible production.
