Thermal Management

Thermal management is a critical performance and capability application that needs to be evaluated at a full aircraft level. Thermal loads have and continue to grow due to the electrification of sub-systems (“More Electric Aircraft”), high performance actuation systems, changes inside the propulsion system, and new payloads.

Thermal constraints must be met without deteriorating performance; therefore, sophisticated design and operation of the thermal management system is required. These systems may contain air cycles, vapor compression cycles, and liquid cooling cycles to dissipate heat, and often interact with secondary power systems such as the electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems or the fuel system.

Modelon’s aerospace libraries deliver a comprehensive multi-physics picture, reducing the setup and analysis time. They facilitate the integration with relevant domains such as fuel system or jet propulsion. They provide the versatility to implement all types of system architectures and to reach real-time simulations.
