This position is market-facing, responsible for discovering and winning commercial opportunities within a defined set of accounts, industry sector(s) and territory, representing the complete portfolio of Modelon products and services. This position is based at our Ann Arbor, MI office.
The Business Development Manager builds high trust relationships with clients and colleagues, actively uncovering, and winning, sales opportunities that match Modelon solutions. You will be assigned accounts within a defined industry sector(s) and territory, you will also respond to inbound leads. You will aggressively qualify and advance opportunities by working in partnership with Modelon’s marketing, sales admin, Services and Application Engineering teams. You will independently qualify leads, drawing support from Modelon domain experts at the right time. For services opportunities, you will work with Modelon’s Services team to ensure program success from start to finish.
When with customers you are the voice of Modelon; when with colleagues you are the voice of the customer.

Success in this role will ultimately be measured by achieved sales volume. Pipeline growth, conversion rate, and customer satisfaction will also be important performance metrics.
Modelon offers a range of products related to real-world solutions for model based systems design and simulation. We work with products from carefully selected partners, in combination with products that we have developed in-house. Our product portfolio for model-based engineering is centered around Modelica and FMI technologies.

Modelon is seeking engineers for our new offices in USA. Your profile should include a mix of: strong academic background of MSc or PhD level, relevant industry experience, excellence in control & systems engineering and physical modeling with emphasis on thermodynamics, fluid, mechanical and electrical domains, as well as numerical mathematics and programming. Experience with Modelica language and Dymola is a strong differentiator.
